Thursday, November 30th
Boerne YMCA 6:00 - 8:00 pm Kendall County Women's Shelter (KCWS) will host a self-defense workshop as an awareness event in support of our teen dating violence prevention program. Detective Ovidio Flores will teach a series easy-to-learn of self defense techniques for a number of different scenarios. Ovidio Flores is a detective with the Boerne Police Department who has been in law enforcement for 16 years. He has been affiliated with martial arts for the past twenty five years, specifically Kojukan Jujitsu formerly underneath Zujitsu-Ryu. In 2012, Ovidio Flores received a Regional Leadership Award from the most elite and prestigious martial arts grandmasters council in the world, being the World Head of Family Sokeship Council, for his accomplishments. Attacks come in on all levels - you will be learning self-defense and not sport. We will have a fun and memorable evening discovering awareness of ourselves and how to handle threats accordingly. This event is open to participants ages 12 and up. Please bring your ticket receipt or a paper good donation. Dress comfortably in clothes and shoes you can move in. |
