Our Residential Specialists ensure the physical safety and emotional well-being of residents while providing crisis intervention and support essential to daily shelter operations. This role helps maintain a safe, calm, and respectful environment for survivors and their families.

    • 1 year of relevant experience in a trauma-related field

    • Some college preferred (Social Services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field) or 2 years of relevant experience

    • Data entry skills required

    • Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance

    • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible schedules

    • Coordinate and provide crisis intervention to survivors of domestic abuse residing in the shelter

    • Provide case management services to an average of 18 residential families and non-residential families as needed

    • Complete biopsychosocial assessments to help identify each client’s individual needs to support them by providing community resources and referrals

    • Provide advocacy for clients through problem-solving, safety planning, and education. Familiarity with and/or ability to educate oneself about the various housing programs and other forms of area assistance

    • Network with other social service providers regarding client support needs and services

    • Provide legal advocacy on behalf of clients to attorneys, legal aid centers, or other service providers when requested. This may include, but is not limited to, transportation, accompaniment to court proceedings, and logistical assistance

    • Communicate regularly with clients regarding status verbally and in written form

    • Participate in weekly staffing, along with regularly updating staff, when appropriate, on clients’ progress and needs

    • Provide for the accurate, relevant, and timely flow of information among program staff

    • Responsible for all data collection, data entry, and reporting to contracting agencies, as well as preparation of the monthly board report

    • Manage and review all client records ensuring that all necessary paperwork follows agency standards and contracting agencies’ requirements

    • Ensure that all residents are treated in a manner consistent with the agency's mission

    • Assist in continual evaluation and development of the case management program as necessary and assigned

    • Participates in shelter and agency staff meetings as required

    • Responsible for answering the 24-hour crisis line when needed

    • Responsible for working with staff to coordinate volunteer service and compliance with local, state, and federal standards

    • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and resolution of issues

    • Assist clients with account setup, maintenance, and inquiries

    • Prepare reports and presentations on client performance

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and solutions for client needs

    • Ability to lift up to 40–70 pounds occasionally

    • Frequently sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs

    • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

    • Maintain professional, business casual appearance

    • Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a non-judgmental attitude

    Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Case Manager

On-Site | Boerne, TX | Full-Time

Our Case Managers support survivors of domestic violence on their path toward safety and stability. In this role, you will provide crisis intervention, individualized case management, advocacy, and resource coordination while working collaboratively with staff and community partners to ensure clients receive the comprehensive support they need.

    • Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance

    • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends

    • Provide crisis intervention and case management to an average of 18 residential families, as well as non-residential families as needed

    • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and connect clients to community resources and housing assistance

    • Offer advocacy, safety planning, legal support (including court accompaniment), and ongoing client communication

    • Collaborate with social service providers and internal teams to coordinate care

    • Maintain accurate client records, complete data entry, prepare required reports (including monthly board reports), and ensure compliance with agency and funding standards

    • Participate in staffing meetings and support overall shelter operations, including answering the 24-hour crisis line as needed

    • Assist with volunteer coordination and program development

    • Ability to lift 40–70 lbs occasionally
